For Real Adventure
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Pick-up will be at 7:30am from Arusha by African Overland, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch provided. You will enjoy a full-day game drive exploring this beautiful park, the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, located in the Manyara Region. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which is the main source of fresh water for wildlife during the dry season.
The Tarangire Ecosystem is famous for its seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebras, where thousands of animals gather during the dry months from June to November. The park is especially known for its large elephant populations and iconic baobab trees. Visitors can also expect to see zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, waterbuck, dik-dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, vervet monkeys, baboons, and more. In the evening, you will proceed to a campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire to Central Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you will depart with African Overland and drive towards the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through scenic highlands along the way. You will stop for picnic lunch at Nabi Gate before entering the park.
Upon arrival, you will begin your first Serengeti game drive en route to Central Serengeti (Seronera region), one of the richest wildlife habitats in Africa. The Serengeti is world-famous for the Great Migration and its large populations of predators and herbivores. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, zebras, and wildebeest are commonly seen across the plains. In the evening, you will arrive at your campsite for dinner and overnight stay in the heart of the wilderness.

Day 3: Full day in Serengeti National Park
This day is dedicated to a full exploration of the Serengeti ecosystem with African Overland. You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives across the Central Serengeti plains, with picnic lunches served in the bush.
The Serengeti offers unmatched wildlife density, with frequent sightings of lions hunting, cheetahs scanning the plains, and leopards resting in acacia trees. The region also supports large herds of buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration passing through the area. In the evening, you will return to your campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Highlands
After an early breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti with African Overland as you gradually exit the park. Wildlife sightings continue along the way as you travel through the plains and kopjes.
You will then drive towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, enjoying scenic landscapes and cooler temperatures. In the evening, you will arrive at your campsite near the crater rim for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro crater tour - Karatu
After breakfast, you will descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater with African Overland for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, formed millions of years ago after a massive eruption and collapse. It is about 610 metres deep and covers a rich wildlife floor of approximately 260 square kilometres. The crater is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations and offers excellent chances to see the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards.
After the game drive, you will ascend the crater and continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay at a campsite or lodge.

Day 6: Karatu to Lake Eyasi – Cultural Experience
After breakfast, you will drive with African Overland to Lake Eyasi, a remote and culturally rich region along the Great Rift Valley. This day focuses on deep cultural immersion with the Hadzabe and Datoga communities.
You will visit the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in Africa, and learn about their traditional way of life, survival skills, and hunting techniques. You may also interact with the Datoga tribe, known for their blacksmithing and pastoral lifestyle.
In the evening, you will settle into a campsite near Lake Eyasi, close to the Hadzabe community, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight stay under the stars in a truly authentic setting.

Day 7: Morning Hadazabe hunting experience – Return to Arusha
Early in the morning, you will join the Hadzabe people for a traditional hunting experience with African Overland, witnessing their ancient survival skills and daily lifestyle in the bush. This rare cultural encounter offers a unique insight into one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer societies.
After the morning experience, you will return to camp for breakfast before beginning your journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable safari adventure.
