7-day Tarangire, Serengeti x3 & Ngorongoro Camping Safari
For Real Adventure
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Pick-up will be at 7:30am from Arusha by African Overland, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch provided. You will enjoy a full-day game drive exploring this beautiful park, the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, located in the Manyara Region. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which is the main source of fresh water for wildlife during the dry season.
The Tarangire Ecosystem is famous for its seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebras, where thousands of animals gather during the dry months from June to November. The park is especially known for its large elephant populations and iconic baobab trees. Visitors can also expect to see zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, waterbuck, dik-dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, vervet monkeys, baboons, and more. In the evening, you will proceed to a campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire to Ngorongoro crater
After breakfast, you will depart with African Overland and drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch provided.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, formed millions of years ago after a massive eruption and collapse. It is about 610 metres deep and covers 260 square kilometres of fertile wildlife habitat. The crater is one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders and offers one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the world, including the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the endangered black rhino. In the evening, you will ascend and proceed to your campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive with African Overland towards Serengeti National Park, passing through scenic highlands with optional wildlife sightings along the way. You will stop for picnic lunch at Nabi Gate before entering the Serengeti.
Once inside the park, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to Central Serengeti (Seronera region), one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. The Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the plains. Even outside migration season, the area offers excellent sightings of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and large herbivore herds. You will arrive at your campsite in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4-6: Central Serengeti National Park
These three days are dedicated entirely to exploring the vast Serengeti ecosystem with African Overland. Each day includes morning and afternoon game drives with picnic lunches served in the bush, allowing maximum time for wildlife viewing.
The Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley) is famous for its year-round predator population, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. The region is also rich in herbivores such as buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, eland, and various antelope species. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration passing through the plains. The Serengeti landscape consists of endless grasslands, rocky kopjes, river systems, and acacia woodlands, creating ideal conditions for wildlife photography and game viewing. Each evening, you will return to your campsite for dinner and overnight stays under the stars.

Day 7: Central Serengeti to Arusha
On your final day, you will enjoy an early sunrise game drive in the Serengeti with African Overland, followed by breakfast at the campsite. After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Arusha, enjoying wildlife sightings along the way as you exit the park and travel through the scenic highlands.
Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable 7-day African Overland camping safari experience.
